Good afternoon!! Today I will be writing about some of my goals and accomplishments from the year 2020. For the year 2020, I had the goals of winning the breakaway for the whole year at the junior rodeo that I compete in, being more consistent in the barrel event with my horse Diesel, bringing my own horses to outdoor polo practices, playing in a outdoor polo tournament with my own polo ponies, and giving more riding lessons and making more money to pay for horse stuff. I did in fact win the breakaway for the junior rodeo, I became more consistent in the barrels with Diesel, I brought my own horses to both outdoor polo practices and to a outdoor polo tournament( with the help of my amazing parents), and I did give more riding lessons and I made some extra money to help with horse expenses.
Even though 2020 was a good year for me, there was a down of the year. At the beginning of the year, my main horse, Croppy, was diagnosed with skin caner. A very aggressive form of skin cancer may I add. The vet told us that is wasn't effecting anything, in the early stages anyway. So we kept using him knowing that his time was coming. His last few months were very enjoyed, but it was a very hard few months trying to stay positive, for his sake. It was very hard to look at him without being sad, especially for me. The day before he left for heaven, we were able to schedule a last minute photographer to take our pictures together. It was a sad, but happy day. Croppy is now in a better place with no more pain which makes me very happy.
In my next post I will be writing about my new goals for the new year, 2021:)
